SpinJumper
Created for The Very Serious Juniper Dev Game Jam 2026.
BEST PLAYED FULL SCREEN!! (The wheel is harder to control at smaller sizes)
Spin the wheel to make the guy jump, he jumps farther on faster spins, and jumps in the direction the wheel is pointing when you release.
The wheel points towards your mouse while you click and drag, so and jump power is based on the angular velocity of the wheel. To control the direction click towards the top middle of the wheel and flick it to either direction. You don't need a ton of power, moderate spins are more than enough. You don't need your mouse to stay on the wheel while dragging, it tracks the mouse anywhere, it just keeps pointing at it, and the jump direction will be roughly the angle from the center of the wheel to where your mouse ends up ( But more accurately is exactly the direction the arrow on the wheel points, that is what I actually use for the jump direction.)
The jump power is also mapped with a curve that can be changed in the options menu if you find that the default curve isn't to your liking ( though changing that is probably a bit much for rating a jam game)
This is the first game project I have completed. Most art assets from Kenney's platformer pack, music and programming by me.
